CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support | Delivered Under Smart and Skilled

This qualification addresses work in the community and residential who follow and individualised plan to provide person-centred support.

  • carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting
  • carry out activities related to an individualised plan

This program is a classroom based program conducted over a 3 month period, with attendance 2 day per week and self-directed learning to complete learning and assessment activities or as a traineeship over a 12 month period.

CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities within defined organisation guidelines and service plans. These workers:

  • carry out activities related to maintaining an individual’s well-being through personal care and/or other activities of living
  • may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs
  • report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers
  • may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

This program is a classroom based program conducted over a 3 month period, with attendance 2 days per week and self-directed learning to complete learning and assessment activities or as a traineeship over a 12 month period.

CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

This qualification focuses on the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well-being

  • carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in an aged care setting
  • carry out activities related to an individualised plan

This program is a classroom based program conducted over a 3 month period, with attendance 1 day per week and self-directed learning to complete learning and assessment activities or as a traineeship over a 12 month period.

Community services cover the age and ability care services. Australia is currently going through 3 huge changes that will greatly impact our workforce and future:

First of all, life expectancy is increasing and now a female (male) born in 2012 will on average, live for an estimated 94.4 (91.6) years.

Also, The population aged 75 or more years is expected to rise by 4 million from 2012 to 2060, increasing from about 6.4 to 14.4 percent of the population. In 2012, there was roughly one person aged 100 years old or more to every 100 babies. By 2060, it is projected there will be around 25 such centenarians.

Last and not least, the services are transitioning to a more customer centred approach that will transform the industry and generate more and different career paths.

Our qualification addresses the needs for workers who will:

  • undertake activities related to maintaining an individual’s well-being through personal care and/or other activities of living
  • may provide services to individuals with complex needs and/or work with groups of older people

Our programs are classroom based and conducted within a 3-month program, with attendance 2 days per week. They can also be a traineeship over a 12 month period.
